About

Cumberland Foundries

Building relationships based on precision gray and ductile iron, “One Pour at a Time…!”

Since our founding in 1949 many things have changed; while the equipment and facilities been updated and modernized, the core values remain the same; dedication and hard work. We have always seen our role as a company in this industry as being a provider of products that are building our community.
Customer Service, From the minute your order enters our foundry’s system, our team enters, researches, organizes, and oversees all aspects of the production and delivery of your order.

Quality and competitive pricing, remain the same as they did in 1949. Being a smaller foundry means that we have a one on one relationship with customers, new and old. We have active customers today that date back to the founding of the Company. We have found that working on such a close level we quell many of the normal problems you will have with a larger casting firm, in advance.

Having grown to a 20,000 sqft shop floor, 5,000 sqft depository for our 10,000+ active patterns, we have what it takes to excel in custom green sand casting manufacturing.

Customer Service and Supply Chain: Orders are tracked and tightly controlled through our specialized foundry specific ERP / MRP software system so as to deliver product seamlessly with your supply chain needs.

We maintain a complete history on all orders to expedite re-orders. You can depend on our on-time deliveries and, due to our flexibility, personal oversight, and dedication. We can deliver items overnight if needed.

Customer Base: We are pleased to service a wide variety of industries; textile, electronics, machine tool, construction, architectural, and OEM’s, Automotive, Marine, Industrial, and Commercial.

If you need a prototype or production, Cumberland is your answer!

From our President:

Based on steady growth over the years; we have continuously invested in leading edge casting machinery.

We cover the spectrum of casting sciences and ancillary services. Operators assisted by integrated control systems monitor all aspects of a job.

We pour up to 1000 lbs. using state-of-the-art ‘Green sand molding’ techniques based on proper blending of aggregates; including sand, bentonite clay, pulverized coal and water. We often run testing and utilize the more current materials sciences compositions for specialty work.

We offer both a complete pattern shop for wood and metal patterns.

We also offer chemical and physical analysis and heat-treating ancillary services when requested. We can tie into your SCM (supply chain management) for scheduled delivery.

The attention given to the most minuet of engineering criterion is where working with a small casting company will bring you the best of all worlds. Please join us; we would love to work with you, one on one.

A loyal vendor base

Our castings are the result of consistent high quality sourced raw material. Over the years, we have developed strong working relationships with our suppliers. Loyalty to our vendor base is returned in prompt delivery of top-grade critical materials, even in times of tough market conditions. Working as a team with vendors in this way, we are able to meet our customers’ demanding inventory requirements. Excellent rapport with suppliers also ensures that we can maintain the highest standards in an industry driven by quality and safety issues.

Asking the right questions

As Cumberland Foundry President, I maintain close contact with customers in order to respond quickly to their changing needs. Simply asking: “How can we make your job easier?” has led to improved procedures that increase customer productivity and efficiency. Cumberland strives to ask the right questions. Then we listen and respond.

A loyal workforce

Excellent working conditions, a comprehensive benefits package, and modern equipment combine to help maintain a stable workforce at Cumberland Foundry. Those doing your casting are responsible for quality at their own stations and the entire Cumberland shop team is proud of its quality record.
Our promises are as important as our products

The integrity of our promises to our customers, our vendors, and our employees is as important to the success of our company as the strength and integrity of our products. We strive to maintain the highest standards in everything we do
